ABCs Old & New...

I thought it might be fun to post some new designs we've been working on before they even make it to our site, since I'm a bit backed up with new designs, orders and products we're working on and hope people find these animals cute enough to comment on, here, Facebook or Twitter.

Also, we like to give credit where credit is due and to that end we met with some great gals  earlier in the year and these mompreneurs call themselves the Yahoo Sisterhood, since they all own Yahoo stores. We shared information with these clever ladies, regarding each of our online stores and in the process, asked their opinions about some of our designs and how we might improve upon them. Their suggestions for making the ABCs lighter and offering more colors and no background, prompted us to make some significant changes to a few designs throughout the store. We'd love to hear your ideas for improvements or new designs too!

School & ABCs

Once again the Summer flew by, seemingly before I turned the calendar page.
With school beginning again shortly and Fall just around the corner, new ideas for a revamped alphabet, colors and new animals are under way to help make learning for kids a little more fun.

Along with new ideas for Halloween are lurking in the shadows, to be served up on kid's plates & bowls asa special treat this holiday season.

Dragon on Mondays...

This silly doodle started out as something I had played with one night and then I decided to try out my iPad and videoing me finishing the sketch while sitting in my living room. It doesn't get much more relaxed than this!

I even wound up finishing the entire sketch as a completed illustration, with ideas of a few more silly dragons flying around my head and the castles. Be on the look out for the finsihed version. Coming soon to a You Tube near you. ~ Enjoy!

Sweet dreams

Since I enjoy animals and love drawing the two often combine to bring new designs to life. Recently, among my circle of friends, several horses were due to deliver in early Spring. 

By the beginning of May the wobbly foals came into the world, two colts and two fillies, four in all, just in time for Mother's day!

With all the photos sent my way, inevitably a new design was born too. So for all the horse lovers and mother's too ~ Sweet Dreams.

Oprah ...

Like the millions of others around the world, I've enjoyed Oprah over these 25 years and I will be sad to see the show end today. She has affected so many lives in positive ways and rightfully, earned the respect of her peers and the millions that adore her. She put in many more hours then one would imagine for a woman of her status because she cared about her work enough to bring the truth to viewers and make a difference while she reached out daily to a worldwide audience, willing to listen.

I find it emotional to see another revered icon leave the comfort my daily life, so much so that I took a minute to zip out a cartoon of this inspiring soul. I'm grateful for all the enlightenment she has brought every time I sat down to watch her show and hear her speak. I look forward to her new endeavors on OWN and hope to see her smile every now and again.

But for today - I will be parked in front of the TV to see her say her farewells.

...and I still hope to get the chance to meet her one day. It could happen!?

Lets Ride Pardner...

A while back I got a hankerin for some country western art. It just so happened, I stumbled across this cowboy I had drawn a while back and decided it was time for him to get back in the saddle again and ride west. Then I got to thinkin' - that he might need a pardner, so this little blond feller joined the posse too. I finally realized... how 'bout them cowgirls?! So a little lady or two joined the gang and now they're giddy-upin and yee-hawin into town!

Just remember, don't squat with your spurs on and there never was a horse that couldn't be rode and never was a cowboy who couldn't be throwed. So if yer so inclined to head West, just saddle up and hitch yer hide to a click on any image to find these cowpokes in a nearby town. There's not a lick of cowboy blood in me but I can ride in my dreams and now your kids can too!  Happy trails...
